The FoodTech area will offer a representative preview of some of its sectors in approximately 2.000 sqm strategically located in Hall 3, next to Intercarn and Interlact. In fact, the meat industry is the main sector of demand for equipment and ingredients; the dairy sector is also one of those most interested in Alimentaria FoodTech’s offer. Additionally, this space will host its own agenda of activities as well as an exclusive hosted buyers program.
Ricardo Márquez, Director of Alimentaria FoodTech, points out that “the FoodTech area in Alimentaria 2022 aims to be a bridge to connect with the trade fair’s next edition, to be held from the 26th to the 29th of September of 2023”. According to Márquez, “this space will showcase a representative offer from different sectors, with special emphasis on ingredients and processing equipment. It is a great opportunity for professionals who miss the priceless in-person interactions that only occur at the trade fair”.
As of now, 35 exhibitors have confirmed their presence, out of which almost one third did not participate in the last edition of Alimentaria FoodTech.
One of the companies that will participate in the FoodTech area is Handtmann, worldwide supplier of filling and portioning equipment and automatization solutions for food processing. Jordi Elvira, its Managing Director, considers that “given the well-known situation, personal interactions have slowed down, and we most go back to normality little by little”. Hence, he explains that “we consider a great idea to include this space tailored for technology in Alimentaria 2022. We can showcase our novelties in person to both visitors and exhibitors. In fact, over the last two years Handtmann has made large investments developing new technologies for the food and beverage industry, hence exhibiting in Alimentaria is a great opportunity to display some of our new products in a preview of Alimentaria FoodTech 2023, in which we will also exhibit”.
Controlsa, a producer of industrial doors and enclosures, is another highlighted exhibitor in the FoodTech area at Alimentaria 2022. Sergio Iglesias, its Sales Manager, mentions that “we have been exhibitors at Alimentaria FoodTech for over 30 years, we will participate in the 2023 edition, and this time we value highly our synergies with all the sectors of Alimentaria. We always present novelties at trade fairs and this year won’t be an exception.”
Iglesis also points out that “we aim to expand our commercial contacts and our expectations are quite high. Every time that we participate in a trade fair we notice a sales increase in the following months. Despite the fact that with the pandemic everything has been harder, we expect the trade fair to serve as a boost and that in April we face some sort of normality with high attendance numbers, specially international.”
This initiative is part of Alimentaria FoodTech’s plan to stay active and in constant contact with the food and beverage production industry. The trade fair is programming different touchpoints with its represented sectors through digital and in-person formats aimed to offer new business opportunities. One of the next events programmed is the food safety congress Barcelona Biofilm Summit, to be scheduled in the last trimester of 2022.
